Continuity of Fire Resistance Ratings – a Structural Concern
Although fire resistance ratings usually fall to the Architect to figure out, Building Code requirements for continuity and encapsulation of structural elements sometimes create dimensional or connectivity conflicts during construction. This session seeks to identify some of the most problematic areas and increase awareness of them so that future projects can be designed in anticipation of these challenges with the goal of eliminating them before they happen.
