The Science and Art of Fire Protection Water Supplies & Testing
- Discuss the part of fire protection water supplies testing missed many times.
- Discuss the part of fire pump testing missed many times which, leads to most fire pump tests (even those indicating they are meeting NFPA 25 requirements) not meeting the intent and full requirements.
- Discuss the confusion over churn testing requirements and frequencies.
- Discuss the real reasons pumps tests are not in compliance so many times.
- Discuss the tolerance/accuracy requirements for fire protection equipment.
Outcomes:
To help those in attendance better understand and recognize why many water supply tests, from fire hydrants to fire pumps, are not done correctly.
Presenter: Bruce H. Clarke, CFPS - AIG. Bruce is the head of the Global Technical Training and Integration Team at AIG. He has over 30 years of global experience in property risk engineering and development/delivery of hands on and virtual risk engineering programs.
Bruce is also a past President of our very own Chapter. Please come out and show your support!
Lunch will be served at roughly 11:45am. Come early, we're on the books starting at 11:15 am for socialization. The presentation is targeted to start no later than 12:00 pm.
Old/New Business:
We've received 14 responses from a total of 25 Active Members regarding the nominations and acceptance of the SFPE Greater Charlotte Chapter Officers for the 2023-2024 cycle. All voters responded 'yes' and to this end each Kyle Collins and Andrew Casper will move up from their previous positions to those of President and Vice President, respectively. We also welcome Kyle Christiansen as Secretary.
