Continuing for Fall 2024: Electronic PDHs will be available to Chapter members at no cost for virtual presentations.  If you are not a current member you may still enjoy the presentation at no charge, or pay $10 at registration to be granted a PDH.

This is an online event.  You must join from a computer, no dial-in only information is available. The meeting details will be made available when you register.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES and OUTCOMES:

  • Discuss the history and current state of fire protection in parking structures.
  • Describe the fire protection challenges presented by new parking technologies.
  • Discuss potential sprinkler system solutions to these challenges

Presenter: Jim Lake, Viking Corporation. - Vice President of Training
  • Jim leads the team that develops and delivers both internal and external learning programs for the Viking Group.  He has over 38 years of experience in fire protection including code enforcement, industry representation, and codes and standards administration.  He currently serves on the NFPA Correlating Committee on Automatic Sprinkler Systems and the NFPA Technical Committee on Road Tunnels. Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in Fire Prevention Administration and a master’s degree in education.  He has developed and delivered technical presentations and training seminars on many fire protection related topics to large and small groups throughout the United States and around the world.
